OTBlue multisensor fire detector

O²T Serie IQ8Quad

Esser 802375

Multisensor fire detector with integrated optical sensor and heat sensor with enhanced false alarm management. The optical measurement chamber is provided with a patented developed sensor technology using a high-sensitive blue LED (instead of the commonly used red LED in Optical smoke detectors), enabling the detection of open fires, smoldering fires and fires with high heat generation. Especially for open fires, the classical ionization technology implemented in ionization detectors is replaced by the unique detection technology, unlike ionization detectors, this sensor works without a radioactive element which causes problems at the time of refuse disposal. The detector is capable of identifying the TF1 and TF6 test fires described in the EN 54-9:1982 specification. Well suited for sensitive environment, detection of invisible up to large aerosols. The OTblue multisensor is an intelligent detector with time-related signal analysis, signal correlation of the sensor data, decentralized intelligence, automatic function self-test, CPU failure mode, automatic adaptation to environmental conditions, alarm and operating data memory, alarm indicator and softaddressing. The detector is provided with an integrated isolator and a remote indicator can be connected.

Dual technology optical/thermal detector, IQ8Quad series.
Can be connected directly to the esserbus® loop.

  • Thermal component alarm threshold: 54°C.
  • The use of an LED diode operating in the blue rather than the red range enables the detection of both small and large particles, while maintaining the sensitivity of the detector in both detections.
  • Suitable for particularly harsh environments and able to replace the high performance provided by ion type detectors, which are no longer certifiable and permitted by regulations.
  • It can detect both open fires and smouldering fires, as well as fires with only heat propagation.
  • Suitable in harsh environments such as refineries, data centres, chemical laboratories.
  • Continuous monitoring of the status of the optical chamber and sensor electronics, including continuous monitoring of CPU functionality.
  • Automatic drift compensation in case of variations due to critical environmental conditions (e.g. dust and/or humidity).
  • Presence of experimental false alarm algorithms that, when properly compared with the environmental information collected, allow the false alarms to be eliminated and not evaluated as fire alarms.
  • By means of further specific algorithms, the detector is able to identify any electromagnetic disturbances generated by equipment such as inverters, conveyor belts, radio/wireless equipment and audio speakers.
  • Integrated short-circuit isolator. Two-colour LED for evaluation of operating and alarm status.
  • Thermal sensor operating class: A2
  • Degree of protection: IP40 extendable to IP 43.
  • Ring identification colour: White.
