We recently hosted an internal training session at our company, conducted by Esser by Honeywell, focusing on their latest product: the new Self-Test smoke detector.
What makes this special for us?
We are proud to be the first company in Italy to put the new Self-Test detector into operation during a live demonstration.
The introduction of the Self-Test smoke detector marks a new era that is set to revolutionize fire protection – particularly the way smoke detectors are inspected.
Limited and time-consuming access to critical areas (e.g., areas requiring special authorization, or with devices installed above false ceilings or in high locations) are now a thing of the past – replaced by automated self-tests and digital documentation.
How does the Self-Test smoke detector work?
These detectors carry out automated self-tests on a regular basis by releasing a small amount of smoke or heat to check both optical and thermal sensors.
All data is digitally stored in the CLSS app and can be accessed in real time at any moment.
What does this mean for technicians?
Efficiency and productivity are significantly increased. A simple visual check is now sufficient for functionality testing.
The traditional toolkit is replaced by the CLSS app on a smartphone, allowing technicians to generate comprehensive reports with just a tap. Manual logging is no longer necessary, and even extensive tests can be performed in a fraction of the usual time.
Compatibility
The new Self-Test detectors from Esser by Honeywell are fully compatible with standard detector bases, making the upgrade of existing systems quick and easy.
They perform tests that are precise, safe, and reliable, and are certified according to EN 54-7.
Conclusion
With Esser by Honeywell’s self-test technology, smoke detector inspections become simpler, safer, and more efficient.
